Indeed Announces Expansion Plans in Austin, Includes Thousands of New Jobs

Increasing local workforce will fuel company’s global growth

AUSTIN, Texas – Indeed, the world’s number one job site, today announced expansion plans in Austin that includes the creation of as many as 3,000 new jobs over the next several years, positioning it to be amongst the largest tech employers in the city.

“We are committed to growing in Austin, a city that is a proven tech hub with excellent access to talent and a community that encourages innovation,” said Indeed President Chris Hyams. “As one of Indeed’s founding cities, it has been a great place to grow our organization over the past 13 years as we’ve helped millions of job seekers find new opportunities.”

The expansion includes two new office developments totaling over 615,000 square feet. Today Indeed signed a lease at Block 71 to occupy the top ten floors, downtown at 6th and Lavaca Street, and is developing the full Domain Tower in north Austin at 721 Domain Drive. These new offices will be in addition to the company’s existing locations along northwest Austin’s tech corridor of Loop 360, while the current downtown location will be replaced by Block 71. Indeed’s multi-office strategy helps to minimize traffic impact to the city, giving employees options for public transportation, carpooling and alternate routes.

As Indeed expands its presence in Austin and across new markets globally, it continues to experience significant growth as a company. It has quadrupled its global headcount in the last three years and has launched several new products aimed at reducing the inefficiencies in the hiring and job search process.

“Indeed is a hometown success story and a great example of what type of innovation and opportunity find root here in Austin,” said Mayor Adler.

Austin serves as a global technical hub for the company with a high concentration of engineering and product teams, but it has employees across all functions – finance, legal, sales, marketing, corporate development, client success and human resources. Future hiring will be across all functions.

Indeed was founded in Austin and Stamford, CT in 2004. Today, there are more than 1,600 employees in Austin, and Indeed has over 6,100 employees in 27 offices around the world.
